Carve With Us: Create Asa’s Signature Flower Pattern in Clay 

Hi! We're Asa and Daisy, a pottery-making duo who love turning simple clay forms into beautifully carved pieces.

We’d love to invite you to our free live workshop, where Asa will guide you through the first steps of his carving process and show you how simple lines and curves can come together to create his signature radiating flower pattern.

You’ll be able to follow along with us live, practice some of the core carving movements, and get a taste of the process behind our work.

What you will learn:

1. Know When Your Clay Is Ready to Carve

Before touching the carving tool, Asa will explain how to recognize the right leather-hard stage and why timing has such a huge effect on the finished result.

2. Master the 3 Core Carving Movements

You will practice the three building blocks Asa is using throughout his work:
- the Arc cut
- the S-curve
- Clean straight / Directional lines

3. Turn Simple Lines Into a Radiating Flower

Asa will show how those basic movements come together into his signature radiating flower pattern, and everyone can carves along with him.

Clay has shaped so many parts of our lives, our work, our family, and the way we see the world. Over the years, we’ve developed a process that combines thoughtful forms, carving, pattern, and plenty of patience to create pieces that feel truly personal.

Through our studio and teaching, we love helping other makers slow down, understand the process, and feel more confident experimenting with their own work.

We believe the most beautiful pottery comes from learning the foundations well enough to make them your own, and we’re excited to share a little of that process with you in this workshop.
